Our Advocacy
Raising Awareness through Media
Stop Cyber Crime meets seniors where they are, using both traditional and digital channels. We partner with local newspapers, radio stations, and community bulletins can spread awareness through trusted media channels that seniors regularly consume.
Stop Cybercrime Speaker Series
We provide accessible engaging presentations tailored to the unique vulnerabilities seniors face. We collaborate with organizations like AARP chapters, Area Agencies on Aging, senior meal programs, library systems, faith-based organizations, and financial institutions to reach older adults in trusted, familiar environments where they already gather.
Our presentations address the most prevalent threats targeting seniors, including romance scams, grandparent fraud, tech support scams, Medicare imposters, and Social Security phishing schemes.
Each session is interactive and avoids jargon, using real-world examples and providing practical, immediately actionable strategies that seniors can implement to protect themselves. We also work closely with law enforcement agencies and elder abuse prevention coalitions to ensure our messaging aligns with current fraud trends and reporting procedures. By maintaining these diverse partnerships across the senior service ecosystem, we create multiple touchpoints for education and support, building a safety net that reaches isolated seniors, active community members, and everyone in between, ultimately fostering a more cyber-aware and resilient older adult population.
